Motul Petit Le Mans 2026

The 2026 Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta provided a fitting conclusion to an exceptional season for Action Express Racing, as the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen V-Series.R secured the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTP Teams’ title, while Jack Aitken was crowned Drivers’ Champion and Cadillac claimed the Manufacturers’ Championship.
Arriving at Road Atlanta with a commanding championship advantage following a remarkable campaign, the team entered the ten-hour endurance classic determined to finish the season strongly. Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber and Frederik Vesti once again combined their talents aboard the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen, looking to repeat their 2025 Petit Le Mans victory and celebrate a championship-winning season in style.
The race presented a formidable challenge, with changing weather conditions, numerous full-course cautions and a lightning-related stoppage creating a demanding contest. Throughout the event, Action Express Racing demonstrated the pace, determination and strategic execution that had become hallmarks of its 2026 campaign.
As the race entered its closing stages, Bamber moved into contention for overall victory, leading the field before an intense battle with the No. 6 Porsche. Although the Cadillac ultimately lost the lead with less than an hour remaining, the No. 31 continued fighting for another podium until a late incident brought its challenge to an end.
While the final race result did not reflect the team’s competitive performance, the bigger achievement had already been secured. Aitken claimed his first IMSA GTP Drivers’ Championship, Action Express Racing celebrated the Teams’ Championship, and Cadillac completed a remarkable sweep of the season’s three major GTP titles.
The championship success represented the culmination of an outstanding season that included victories at Detroit and Watkins Glen, together with a succession of podium finishes and consistently competitive performances across North America’s most demanding circuits.
For Action Express Racing, the 2026 season reinforced its position among the premier teams in international prototype racing. The combination of exceptional driving talent, engineering excellence, strategic precision and unwavering commitment from every member of the organization delivered the ultimate reward.
