Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen 2026

The 2026 Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen delivered another memorable chapter in what has become an outstanding season for Action Express Racing, with the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R securing a hard-earned victory after six hours of relentless competition at Watkins Glen International.
The weekend began in impressive fashion as Jack Aitken claimed pole position with a new GTP track record, giving Action Express Racing its second consecutive pole and reinforcing the outright pace the No. 31 Cadillac had shown throughout the season.
From the green flag, the No. 31 established itself among the leading contenders. Aitken, Earl Bamber and Frederik Vesti combined speed with disciplined race management, expertly negotiating traffic, changing track conditions and the numerous strategic decisions that define endurance racing at Watkins Glen. Throughout the six-hour contest, the Cadillac Whelen remained a constant presence at the front of the GTP field, supported by faultless pit work and calm decision-making from the Action Express crew.
As the race entered its decisive final hour, the battle for victory intensified. With rival manufacturers applying relentless pressure, the No. 31 team continued to execute with precision, maximizing tire performance, fuel strategy and track position. In the closing laps, the Cadillac held firm under intense pressure to secure victory by just 0.197 seconds, highlighting both the competitiveness of the GTP category and the team’s composure when the stakes were highest.
The triumph marked the team’s second victory of the 2026 season, following its success in Detroit, and further strengthened its position in both the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ championship battles. It also demonstrated the versatility of the No. 31 program, winning on both a temporary street circuit and one of North America’s fastest permanent road courses.
For Action Express Racing, Watkins Glen was another example of the qualities that have defined the No. 31 program throughout 2026: outstanding preparation, exceptional teamwork and the ability to perform under pressure. Converting pole position into victory at one of endurance racing’s most demanding venues was a fitting reward for a team that continues to set the benchmark in IMSA competition.
