The 2025 TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway proved to be one of the season’s most thrilling and defining moments for Action Express Racing and the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen V-Series.R. In a race that demanded precision, consistency and nerves of steel, the team delivered a standout performance to earn their first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship victory of 2025.

From the outset, the No. 31 Cadillac – piloted by Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber and Frederik Vesti – showed formidable strength and pace. After inheriting pole position due to a post-qualifying technical adjustment, Aitken led the majority of the six-hour endurance contest, mastering traffic and energy management to keep the Cadillac in control nearly all day.

Throughout the race, the team’s execution – from pit stops to stint strategy – was methodical and effective. Despite late-race pressure from championship rival Cadillacs and other GTP contenders, the No. 31 crew held firm. A late full-course caution set up a two-lap dash to the checkered flag, and Aitken’s flawless restart ultimately sealed the victory by a narrow 0.988-second margin over the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac, giving Cadillac a memorable 1-2 finish.

This triumph represented more than just a race win – it was the team’s first podium and victory of the season, ending a challenging stretch and signaling a resurgence of competitiveness deep into the IMSA campaign. Bamber added another notch to his career tally, Aitken notched his second IMSA victory, and Vesti scored his first win in WeatherTech Championship competition.
