Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen 2027

Action Express Racing has a rich and varied record at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International, one of IMSA’s cornerstone endurance events. In the mid-2010s, the team excelled with its Corvette Daytona Prototypes – notably in 2016, when the No. 5 Mustang Sampling Corvette DP driven by João Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi led teammate Dane Cameron to a 1-2 finish, showcasing dominant pace and strategy on the newly repaved 3.4-mile circuit. That win also helped AXR gain the lead in the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup standings.
The following year, in 2017, Action Express again triumphed in the six-hour classic with Barbosa at the wheel, holding off a strong challenge late in the race to take a dramatic victory that underscored the team’s endurance credentials.
In the modern GTP era, AXR continued to be competitive. During the 2025 Watkins Glen, the No. 31 Cadillac V-Series.R ran strongly – even leading significant stints – but ultimately came up short as energy strategy and late cautions reshaped the result.
Across eras, Watkins Glen has highlighted Action Express’s blend of speed, strategy, and resilience in one of IMSA’s most demanding endurance tests.
