Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen 2025

At the iconic Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen – the sixth round of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and a key event in the Michelin Endurance Cup – the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R from Action Express Racing delivered a spirited and gutsy performance on June 22 at Watkins Glen International.
From the green flag, the No. 31 crew of Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber and Frederik Vesti showcased strong pace and strategic flexibility. Initiating the weekend with competitive speed in practice and qualifying, the Cadillac was well-positioned among the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) contenders before the six-hour marathon unfolded. Throughout the race, the team demonstrated crisp execution — navigating through mixed conditions, dense traffic and the frequent cautions characteristic of the Finger Lakes road course.
As the race approached its climax, the No. 31 Cadillac was firmly in contention for a podium result, exchanging hard-fought laps with rival prototypes and racing at the sharp end of the field. In the final moments, energy management played a decisive role. The team elected a late fuel stop in the closing laps to ensure a strong finish, a call that exemplified sound strategy and racecraft under pressure.
Ultimately, the overall race victory went to Meyer Shank Racing’s No. 60 Acura ARX-06, which executed its own energy strategy to perfection. Despite not getting the win, the No. 31 Cadillac ran competitively until the end and crossed the line among the front-running GTP entries – a testament to the crew’s consistency and resilience.
The Watkins Glen result offered plenty of positives for Action Express Racing: strong pace in a highly competitive prototype field, disciplined traffic management through one of IMSA’s most demanding road courses, and strategic boldness when it mattered most. These takeaways reinforced confidence within the program as the team looked ahead to the remainder of the 2025 WeatherTech Championship and the endurance rounds that define the season.
